20 Minute Meal Idea

This is an amazingly simple meal idea when you have no time to make dinner and have to throw something together in a few minutes.

I made this the other day when we had to much going on and I had no energy to cook something from scratch. All you need is some Sausage of any kind will be fine, I used smoked sausage but use what you have. Rice of your choosing, could be any kind even the knorr pasta sides are fine. That is what I ended up using was the Knorr yellow rice which turned out amazing! I love to use Knorr when I have no time to make a meal especially during the week when we are so busy and everyone just wants to eat and get ready for bed time routine. I’m sure they probably aren’t the best for you so whatever rice you like is totally fine.


sausage and rice



2 cups chicken broth or chicken bouillon is okay

1/2 Green Pepper

1/2 Red Pepper

1 clove of garlic sliced

1/2 onion

1 package of rice (knorr) or whatever kind you have

2 sausages

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp olive oil

1 tsp cayenne pepper if desired


  1. Slice sausage and dice peppers, onion and garlic
  2. Add 1 tsp olive oil to pan, when hot add in chopped ingredients cook until sausage is browned and onions are translucent.
  3. Pour in chicken broth or chicken bouillon, rice, salt, pepper and cayenne and boil with lid on until rice is tender.

I forgot in my hurry to take a picture of the completely cooked food which I am kicking myself for.

Let stand 5 minutes to cool and serve.
